The matrix to describe, memorize, analyze, investigate

I thought I was just getting some fresh air, but I ended up discovering that my nose was as sharp as a pig's truffle!

On walks, my nose is like a hunger detector: as soon as it smells something good, my stomach starts rumbling.

Many years ago, while on vacation with my parents, I discovered the importance of paying attention to the details of my surroundings through a simple walk in the streets.

As we strolled through the narrow, winding streets of a small town in the heart of Corsica, a strange smell caught my attention. It reminded me of freshly baked bread dough, but I had no idea where it was coming from. Intrigued, I decided to lead the family to follow my nose to its source.

After a few minutes' walk, a small bakery tucked away in an unlikely alleyway appeared before us. As we entered, I was immediately struck by the warmth of the oven and the smell of baking bread dough. Behind the counter, an old lady kneaded dough with her expert hands, speaking a rapid local patois that I didn't understand at all.

I was fascinated by her look, her technique and the way she lit up the place. This simple walk showed me the importance of paying attention to the details of my surroundings, even when I'm on vacation and supposed to be relaxing.

This experience also reminded me of the importance of following my intuition. and not to be afraid of discovering new things. If I hadn't followed my nose and explored this hidden bakery, I would never have had the opportunity to discover this exciting experience.

Observation is a valuable skill that can help us discover new things and learn from new experiences. So next time you're out for a walk or a stroll in your neighborhood, take the time to pay attention to all your senses and follow your intuition. You never know what you might discover!

Why don't we finish off with a little description exercise? Imagine your old bakery lady!

  • Imagine what this bakery looked like, describe it
  • Imagine your old lady, her looks, her face, her clothes, the way she spoke and how she lit up the room.

Close your eyes and smell the freshly baked bread. Have a nice day!

Observation model (available in 2023)

A template is a predefined pattern of observations created by another user that you can immediately use to save time and discover different approaches. Any user can create a template and choose whether or not to share it with the public. You can add a model to your library, modify it and adapt it for new uses. You can also add a model directly to a current study or to a new study.

A template is composed of the following information:

  • The objective of the observational study

  • Possible additional explanations

  • All named analysis objectives (tabs)

  • All first-level descriptors in each analysis (N:0)

  • The category of the model according to the type of observation

  • The pseudo of the creator of the study
